Oh my…I want to get my hands on these as well. I loooooooove stationary. I just received my embossed leather planner with my initials on it today. I love it! You should buy these beautiful cards 🙂
You have very classy weaknesses (fine stationary?!)
My weakness is more like… chocolate.
Chantelle – love embossing!
SP – Well, I have many weaknesses – and chocolate is definitely one of them! 😉
There is something to be said for a nice, old-fashioned thank you note. People really notice and appreciate them. I’ve actually found a niche in premium DIY invitation kits (mostly for brides on a budget). People still want nice things, it’s just a matter of finding a way to make them affordable. Down economy or not, you still have to live life and you only live once so you’ve got to do what you can to enjoy it along the way.
Have you thought about making your own? You would spend more on the supplies up front but could emboss until your heart’s content and get more for your money in the long run. But, then again, my weakness is for crafting/DIY projects. And chocolate. Lots of chocolate. =)
You’re allowed to “splurge” every now and then so I say go for it.
Are those numbers per piece?!? They’re gorgeous and all but I think my hand would be shaking too much to write on them since that’s $20 down the drain if I messed up!
OK, just realized I read the numbers wrong, but still, $12.50 per piece?
I’m not into stationery. More into technology.. god I want so many things now!
By the way, I interviewed you!
Well-Heeled
We are talking per box pricing, right? I love a good thank you card, but I keep reminding myself that you can luck across super nice ones for less than a dollar at Target after Xmas sales too. Y’know, to kill the spending urge. 😉
I love the top ones! So cute. It’s so nice to get a “real” thank u card these days. I think its a great gesture.
If there are 10 in there that is not to bad. It is a small luxury and who ever you send them to would probably really like getting them in the mail!
Those are beautiful! I really want the top ones, now!
Saver in the City – the prices are per set of 10 cards. But I’m sure Crane has sets that cost $12+ per card (personalized stationery sets, I’m guessing). I’d be too scared of messing up on those cards too!
FB – Ooo thanks! I loved the interview, and you always have such great pictures to go with the answers. 🙂
It is devilishly hard to find good thank you notes, esp. for ones you would send to a guy. The fashion ones are too femme and the professional ones are so sterile and boring, or have really ornate script that turns me off.
I finally found a set at Target that had a clean enough design to use professionally, but still had enough flair to suit me. They have a rather Indian-looking print, like a rust colored tile/mosaic pattern with a subdued “Thank You” in the bottom corner.
I really dig the design of the pink set…if only it were blue, or perhaps a mint green. If you can rock a pink that bold, though, then go for it.
Looks like I’m in the minority but I just love the bottom set. And it has nothing to do with the pink, I actually happen to like the font and placement of the “Thank You” better… Well to be honest I just like that whole design. I’d go for it if I were you. For both sets if I liked them enough too. It’s hard to find good, simple, elegant stationary. And one can never have too many thank you cards, in my opinion.
Be impressed that you know your weakness. I am amazed at how many people I know (and sometimes read) that do not know their weakness. Whenever I hear someone say they don’t like to shop, I say they are lying to themselves (I’m sorry but if you spend 40 minutes looking at power tooks or computer parts, that is as muchshopping as my looking ay purses).
Stationary is mine too. I personally like the top for the embossing but the lower for the clean look. I would maje the decision based on the intended use: if you are thinking more formal “thank yous” then go with the bottom.
Have you tried wax seals yet? Oh, if you’re like me, maybe you should stay away. What I would give to order a custom-made one like the olden days where a seal was equivalent to your signature (so much so that they destroyed your seal upon your death).
Ohhh!! I LOVE fine stationary!!
Um… yes! Stationary is awesome!
Yes. Love good stationery. I love sending AND receiving nice thank-you notes and invitations!
