What are yours?
**Now I know that nothing in life is truly free, but these things are free(ish) to me. I know I should donate to NPR…. and I will!
Oh… I think we may be siblings separated at birth. H and I are in love with hulu… who needs cable? And, I usually have 10-12 books checked out from the library. Just too good of a deal.
I also love the free online money-management tools they have out there, we use mint.com. It’s nice to see where we are at for the month without having to plug it all into Quicken ourselves.
I like to watch TV shows on NBC and ABC’s websites.
I also LOVE free samples for skin care products. If it is in a little jar, I think it’s so adorable!
Free meals! As a graduate student, organizations will bribe you with food to get you to go to their meetings. It’s fantastic!
“I know I should donate to NPR…. and I will!”
I’ve been saying this for years. I feel a little guilty during the pledge drive, but I still haven’t made a donation!
The main problem I’ve had with hulu for movies is either I’ve seen the movie, or I’ve never heard of it and don’t know if I want to see it. Still, much better than renting for $4
I heart freebies – I always watch Hulu.com (Colbert Report, Daily Show, old movies, SNL clips…the list goes on) and listen to NPR. Also, I love going to Wal-Mart.com and signing up for their free samples! They have everything from free tampons to cereal.
I <3 MIT’s opencourseware and the open course material you can find on iTunes.
and as a CS nerd I love the fact that you can learn almost any programming language through random online tutorials.
Old French films from the public library; cosmetics samples mailed to me by my favourite department store; my grandma’s knitted slippers; my daily fashion fix on the Sartorialist; and if I can add a free activity, either sketching or walking my dog on an autumn day.
